Kate's Birthday

Our friend Kate turned 5 on Saturday, July 12th. And there was a party to be had!! There were plenty of people there to celebrate, and the kids made the best of the crowd and pulled out the water balloons! The favors for the kids were water guns - SMART!!

Kate requested that I make her a lollipop cake for her birthday. Her wish was my command. She wanted a pink cake on the inside, so I made a fresh strawberry cake and covered it with fondant to get that lollipop affect! James & Denise rented a Hawaiian Ice machine for the party. That was totally a hit! Although my kids thought it was loud, they L-O-V-E-D eating it!!

At one point, while Kate was opening gifts, Chloe jumped up and down and stepped on a stick. It cut her foot, and the fun came to a halt for her! All the kids came over to make sure she was okay - even the birthday girl! But Chloe would have no part of "help". She just wanted to sulk on Mommy's lap for a while. Once the pinata and candy went flying, things started looking up for her, and she was able to get over the trauma of her owie.

It was a fun day - lots of visiting with friends, lots of watching the kids having a good time, and lots of yummy food - always a sure thing at the Walz's abode!

Oh, and here is a cute picture of Kate and I, the "morning after" the big day!
