The weather was so amazing over the holiday that the entire 3-day weekend was spent OUTSIDE!! We did a lot of gardening on that Saturday, and Sunday was spent with the Walzs. It is our usually Sunday ritual without the hurried-end-of-the-day-get-ready-for-the-week stuff!
After church, we headed back to their house where "Dede" made us her homemade jambalaya. She grew up in the south, in New Orleans, and her jambalaya is AWESOME!
The kids also got a chance to strut their stuff on their bikes out front. The Walzs have a little power Jeep that they kids can drive. Talk about wild drivers!
James pulled out the sprinkler and the waterball.... cold water... but refreshing nonetheless!

And while Keith had a little cuddle with Daddy to warm up, the girls had a good chance to play "dress-up". Chloe is Princess Aurora, and Kate is Cinderella!

AND because that wasn't quite enough in our day (right!), we accepted a lovely, spontaneous invitation to our friends, The Bleekers, house for the evening. We know the Bleekers (Heidi, Matthew and their kids Noah, Lucy and Cole) from church. Heidi used to lead my women's bible study, and we have been friends for a few years now.
The Bleekers did a wonderful BBQ, and even had ice-cream cones for all the kids afterwards. It was awesome!
Monday was a normal work day for Phil in his business, so we although it was a 3-day holiday, the kids and I did our usual thing. That evening, we headed over to my parents' house for another BBQ and outdoor time with the family.
The kids like to swim in their hot-tub (the kids call is "the pool"). My parents turn down the temp so it isn't so warm, and it's perfect for them!
