Sock Puppets

DSC02637After church Denise and Kate came over for some play time.  Denise brought over a sock puppet kit that she purchased, and the kids had a BLAST making them!

Even Keith got in on the action!  This is his finished product.  LOVE IT!  Seriously!  He did it all by himself.  Mommy helped with the adhesive and sewed the blue pompoms where he requested, but the layout was all him.  Didn’t know I had a sock-puppet-artist in the family!

Chloe made hers into a hula girl.  Difficult to see from the pictures, but she had a little skirt made of faux-fur and flowers.  Kate’s was a kitty cat – perfect since we call her KIT KAT!DSC02650

Once they were done, they lined up the dining room chairs for an audience (all the parents) and we watched their puppet show from behind the couch.  We were all smiling from ear to ear.

When they were done with that, Chloe and Kate put on a play for us.  The Fairy and the Mouse.  I love their imaginary play and being invited to witness it.  So often, when Chloe is alone, she likes to imaginary play when she thinks no one is watching.  I love that Kate brings out that “ham” in her – we ALL know she has it!  She IS my daughter….
