The Leprechaun Trap

One of Chloe’s school assignments this past week was to bring a Leprechaun trap to school.  Each students was to come up with an idea of what might work to catch those clever, little, green men!

We started with a shoebox, covered with kraft paper to set the scene!

Phil was drawing clovers on there for Chloe to color in.  Then Chloe decided she wanted to put a rainbow on the top.  We had brainstormed all the things that she thought Leprechauns liked…clovers, rainbows, pots of gold, etc.

Her goal was to include all of these on her trap.

She wanted a rainbow on the inside as well, to lure the leprechaun IN.

She asked Phil to cut out a door and some windows.  Phil had some plexiglass in his shop, so he cut some pieces to fit.  We couldn’t have open windows or doors because the Leprechaun would get out!!

The door was a one-way door – thus the trap!  Once he goes in, it shuts behind him, and he can’t get back out!  And if you look in the window, you can see that he will be lured in by the rainbow and pot of gold sitting inside the door!  GENIUS!!!

She wanted lots of windows on the roof of the trap “so the leprechaun can see the stars” (while in his trap!)

Chloe – so thoughtful!
