Bella's Birthday at the Park

Keith's buddy, Bella, turned 3! Her celebration was at one of our favorite local parks for an evening BBQ. It was the night before the 4th, so the park was empty.... perfect! We pretty much had it to ourselves.

Present were all the little friends of Chloe & Keith. I just love the fact that our children are growing up with other children. They ask for kids by name, they want to pray for those kids by name, they know what makes those kids happy when they are down, and they know the quirks of each one of them. That is not something I had growing up. I moved around so much that I don't have any true, life-long friends. I have friends that have been in my life since high-school, but not prior. Phil, on the other hand, has those life-long friends. His parents still live in the same house and neighborhood that Phil has known since birth. It is one of those things that I have always envied about Phil's life. And know we get to offer that to our children, through our community, through our church.

As with any birthday party for little ones, there is a buzzzz of excitement for all the little trinkets and activities that happen. This party was no exception. The little blowers are always a hit . The kids play, blow and suck on them so much they become soggy and ineffective after a few short minutes! But that, my friends, is the joy of being a kid!

Rachael & Mike (Bella's mommy & daddy) were so smart. They brought chicken from QFC (friend & roasted) along with mac-n-cheese and a salad. It was perfect picnic food without having to cook anything at the park. Rachael made a beautiful cake for Bella that was summery, fruity & fun!

Too bad Keith didn't like it though.... HA (not!)

And here is a cute & funny picture of Noah & Lucy Bleeker.

When gift time came around, the kids huddled and watched. Bella is really a super hero at heart. She follows closely behind her brother, Luke. So when she opened the homemade Dora cape from her Grandma, she went nuts! It went on immediately... and she was up... going.... gone!
"Bella, come back!", we all yelled. But she kept on running, making that noise that super heroes make.
