Edmonds Beach

Phil and I have been making more of an effort to dedicate Saturdays to family time as our time together has been limited the last 6 months. My early morning job at Starbucks has taken away our evening time (early bedtime) and the weekends have been filled with catch-up items that get missed during the week. But with that lack of time together, we have missed that bonding time.

With this new focus, we chose to take the kids down to the Edmonds waterfront this last Saturday. We had to run some errands down there anyway, and it seemed suitable to take the family and make a morning of it!

The little waterfront community was bustling - lots of ferry traffic, walkers, beachcombers and breakfast-goers hitting the community restaurants (Chanterelle!). So we fit right in with our 2 & 4 year old children dodging people on the sidewalks and running for the train tracks.

We headed for the south side of the ferry dock which we rarely go. We tend to frequent the north side of the dock. But we wanted new territory to explore. The kids were in a playful mood, and that made it that much more fun.

The kids were immediately approached by the local Canadian goose. We just told the kids to keep a distance from him and let him pass. Thankfully they obeyed.

Chloe took this wonderful picture of Phil and I. She is quite the photographer for a 4 year old!!

Beachcombing, pillar hopping, writing in the sand, crane karate & sand angels - all in a days play!

And just when you think you have had as much fun as you can, along comes "THOMAS"!! When the toot of that train horn hit the air, we went running towards the tracks.

Just in time! The kids were so excited to watch at closer range.
Here is a little video of the excitement in the air!!!
