So some of my readers may know my friend, Kristine Emerson. She has always been a roller-skating gal, taking her girls skating at every chance. She even went as far as to buy a nice, expensive pair a few years ago which surprised me. BUT now I know...
I found out this past week that is has been a part of the Pink Pistols, Jet City Rollergirls. That is a smaller league version of the Rat City Rollergirls, although I honestly think she could handle the bigger league. She has decided to take her skating to the next level! What a riot!
She has been doing this since October, is one of oldest one in her group (not to mention married with kids) - it's awesome!! She says it is like being a part of a sorority and that all the other girls are single and in their mid-20's. They skate together a few times a week, and then have bouts once a month.

Roller derby dates back to the 20's and has really taken a hiatus in recent years. But it is coming back strong... so stay tuned! You may know someone out there...
