I will start out this entry by saying that I couldn’t, for the life of me, narrow down which pictures to include – so I have put about 95% of them in! They were all so cute, and I couldn’t turn any of them away. So here goes…
Chloe turned 6 last weekend!! We have been planning a tea party for her celebration for several months. We were trying to decide if we wanted a “Fancy Nancy Tea Party” or a “Pinkalicious Tea Party”. Mommy decided on the Pinkalicious theme because I thought it would be more general – not around a character, per say.
We moved our dining room table into the living room, and moved our couch into the dining room! It was the only way to make a lot of room around the table. But it worked great.
PiNK all around! Chloe and I used the decorations as our crafts for the past few months. She glued jewels onto the silver plastic ware. And we made the placemats.
She was so excited for her friends to arrive. She invited mostly friends from school…Seville, Brooke, Emme. Then she had her friends from church …Bella and Kate.
And here they come!!
All the girls found their names and took their seats at the fancy table.
The PiNK menu included…
- pb&j on homemade pink bread (thanks to Papa James Walz)
- fresh strawberries with pink whipped cream
- homemade pink raspberry marshmallows
- pink cookies
- pink lemonade or sparkling apple juice
Ironically, the girls were very quiet while they ate. There were giggles here and there, but they were very polite. Once the sugar kicked in, things picked up a bit!
My sister, Jennie, came to take pictures and got some beautiful shots of the girls…
“Baby J” (Jillian) got a lot of action. Who could resist, really?!
Once the food was done, the girls got settled in to decorate crowns. That was the craft we had planned for them.
It was an intense, creative process.
Then came time to sing! Chloe requested a pink, rectangular cake. In years past, she always asked for really elaborate cakes – like an elephant, three tiers, etc. But her request was so simple, it took me by surprise this year. To follow the pink theme, we did a strawberry cake with strawberry ice-cream.
MAKE A WISH…
…AND BLOW!!
Finally, the moment had arrived. This was the first year that we invited guests to bring gifts. We had always done the “no gifts, please” route in the past. So Chloe was super excited to open her sweet pink prizes.
James picked out this beautiful piece of art for Chloe’s room. This was my personal favorite!!
