Egg Hunt

Today was Easter, and we celebrated it with church, serving others, and time with family & friends.  Yesterday was all about the egg hunt!

For the first time, we went down to join the festivities of Edmonds at the City Park.  They break up the park into sections, and allow the kids to hunt for eggs & candy based on their age.

IMG_7092We went to Chloe’s section first, and let Keith hunt next to her (even though he was a bit younger).  We figured it would have been “bad” to let him do it if he were OLDER, but younger – seemed perfectly harmless.  The local fire department was there to entertain the kids.  They set the kids off by the sound of the fire engine siren. It was fun to watch the parents with their kids.  There were the casual folks that stood by and watched or walked quietly behind their kid to monitor their safety.  But then there were the soccer style parents that would point and holler, “Hey!  Here’s one!  Pick this one!”    Or the folks that, before the siren even sounded, were pointing out a plan for their kids…  “when you hear the siren, go over there, and then go over there…”  GEESH!  Let the kids be kids, will ya?!

IMG_7100After the 4-6 yr hunt, we walked over to the playground where they had a section for the 3 yr old.  Keith was excited about a 2nd chance!IMG_7101

While there, we ran into some friends of ours from church, who also live in Edmonds.  That is what I love about community activities.  So here is Keith with Josie Vander Ploeg.  Isn’t she a cutie?!?!  Um, ya… couldn’t tell Keith thought so with that BIG smile!

Again, the siren sounded and they were O  F  F  !

Here is Keith showing off his Easter bootie.

They had two Easter Bunnies wondering around the park.  That part cracked me up.  I mean, really, what a way to confuse the kids!  Chloe was pretty sure she had it figured out…

“One is a girl bunny, and the other is a boy!” IMG_7113

“Oh, Ok!”, I said.

Again, Phil and Tyler (Josie’s Daddy) got caught up in conversation – both musicians!  Can’t pull them apart when they get started!

Jenni (pregnant with their 3rd babe “Ella”) took the kids over to the fire engines to explore.  We followed.

Seriously!  Isn’t she a doll?!

The line was sort of long to climb into the engines.  So Chloe just walked up to the front, and popped a squat on the barricade to watch.

And here she is posing (and I mean *posing*) for some shots with some friends we saw from her old school!  What a ham!
