On a last minute invitation, we joined the Huang family for a trip to the Seattle Children’s Museum on Friday afternoon.
The kids LOVE the Space Needle – and here they are pretending to BE the Space Needle!
Chloe Huang is one of Chloe’s friends from preschool. They were in class together for 2 years and now go to different elementary schools. They are still good buddies and we try to get them together every few weeks to stay in touch.
I have learned to really love mission statements. So I couldn’t help but take a picture of theirs when we arrived at the door. It was printed on the wall – really big.
They change their main exhibit every 3 months, and right now, they have a Sesame Street exhibit on OUR BODIES. It was so much fun and super cute!
They have various activities and “touch” games to show what the body does, how to stay healthy, and how to play sports. Here is Chloe on the movement exhibit where you can track walking, wheel chair movement, or rowing on the screen – sort of a race with other kids.
Aside from their featured exhibit, they have their everyday exhibits. They a CRAFT ROOM – super cool! They have clay, recyclable materials, paint (you name it!) all over. The kids can make whatever they want from whatever they want.
This picture sort of gives me a glimpse of what we may have to look forward to in our teen years with Chloe. Do you see it?!?!
Here is Annabelle – Chloe H’s little sister.
They have a ball room with different vacuums and mechanisms that move the ball from here to there. Keith and Daddy had a fun time playing in there.
Then they have a cool reading room. It’s a round room with a big pillar, painted like a tree, in the center. No one was in there – but I loved the feeling of it. I would have stayed in there all afternoon!
After leaving the museum, the kids asked for Hot Dogs. So we hit the “Buck Fifty Cafe” (Costco) on the way home. There were a few things we needed to pick up anyway.
